POSITION OVERVIEW
The Analyst, Securitization and Specialty Finance (SSF), will support BDC’s SSF team by assisting with operations, reporting and portfolio management related to BDC SSF products. They will have very strong attention to detail, coupled with a solid understanding of financial concepts and strong MS Excel skills.
CHALLENGES TO BE MET
- Support the tranche funding/disbursement process (including, eventually, exception submissions) managed by the SSF team, which may include liaising with other BDC departments such as Treasury, Finance, or Credit Risk Management, along with external stakeholders. 
- Conduct KYC/AML searches for SSF and assist with the overall process. 
- Support reporting and analytics on SSF portfolio and group performance. 
- Complete annual review submissions and support the overall process. 
- Support the monthly settlement process and related analysis. 
- Perform quantitative analysis on large amounts of data, including portfolio stratification and cashflow analysis. 
- Resolve ad hoc project and research requests as they arise. 
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, business or similar field (quantitative background in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science or computer science would be an asset). 
- Minimum of three years of experience including experience in financial market transactions. 
- Treasury back-office and/or mid-office experience is a strong asset. 
- Working toward CFA designation, or completion, is a strong asset. 
- Strong attention to detail. 
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. 
- Autonomy, creativity and ability to work in a team. 
- Knowledge of financial mathematics. 
- Ability to communicate clearly and accurately with all stakeholders and ability to develop and maintain close relationships with BDC departments and external parties. 
- Knowledge of debt markets and derivative markets is an asset. 
- Ability to understand complex financial models. 
- Knowledge of Bloomberg would be an asset. 
- Comfortable using MS Office Suite applications including strong MS Excel skills (VBA skills and/or Python skills are an asset). 
- Strong problem-solving skills.
