POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Director, Business Insights and Analytics, the Senior Analyst, Business Insights and Analytics plays a key role in transforming operational data into actionable insights that support strategic and operational decision-making across all client-facing lines of business under the COO (Financing, Wholesale, GTC, and Advisory).

The incumbent is responsible for leading complex analyses, developing advanced Power BI solutions, and applying predictive and diagnostic analytics techniques to uncover trends, risks, and opportunities. The Senior Analyst also contributes to the stewardship of datasets under the COO’s responsibility and supports their integration into enterprise-wide data assets in collaboration with the enterprise data hub. This role requires the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, managing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET

  • Lead the design and execution of advanced analytics to generate insights that inform business strategies, improve performance, and support innovation.

  • Translate business questions into analytical approaches and deliver clear, data-driven recommendations to stakeholders.

  • Develop and optimize Power BI datasets and dashboards, including advanced DAX modeling, data relationships, and performance tuning.

  • Build and maintain data models and frameworks that support scalable reporting and deep analysis across COO business lines.

  • Ensure the quality, consistency, and usability of datasets under the COO’s responsibility, and collaborate with the enterprise data hub to support their integration into enterprise datasets.

  • Apply predictive and diagnostic analytics techniques (e.g., forecasting, clustering, regression) to uncover patterns and support proactive decision-making.

  • Contribute to the application of data governance principles, including metadata management, data quality rules, and lifecycle practices.

  • Prepare and deliver clear, compelling PowerPoint presentations to communicate analytical findings and insights to stakeholders at various levels, including senior leadership.

  • Work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing competing priorities and delivering under pressure.

  • Collaborate with IT, Data Architecture, and Business Process teams to ensure data pipelines and systems support analytical needs.

  • Mentor junior analysts and promote best practices in data analysis, visualization, and storytelling.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.

  • 5–7 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or advanced analytics.

  • Proven ability to generate insights using advanced analytics techniques and communicate them effectively to business stakeholders.

  • Expertise in Power BI, including DAX, data modeling, and performance optimization.

  • Strong technical skills in SQL, Python, Excel, and Azure.

  • Experience working with data governance frameworks, including stewardship, metadata, and data quality.

  • Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create and present impactful PowerPoint presentations.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

  • Bilingualism in French and English is a strong asset.
