The IT Program Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing complex IT programs and projects, defining technical scope, planning and scheduling the program, and ensuring compliance with organizational standards and protocols. The role manages technical risks, monitors program performance and drives adherence to project management methodologies. The role involves building strong relationships with stakeholders to secure resources and guide teams with their project management and technical expertise. The role involves addressing complex challenges and driving implementation of innovative solutions with successful projects and programs.

What you’ll be working on

  • Leads and manages the execution of IT programs and projects, including defining technical scope, designing architectural frameworks, and ensuring compliance with IT standards and best practices
  • Identifies, assesses, and mitigates technical risks and issues, employing risk management frameworks and incident response protocols to minimize disruptions and maintain program integrity
  • Utilizes performance metrics and analytics tools to monitor program health, including system performance indicators, error rates, and user adoption rates, to drive continuous improvement
  • Ensures adherence to established project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and technical standards, focusing on governance and change management processes
  • Monitors and reports on program progress, including performance metrics, deliverables, and milestones, providing regular updates to stakeholders and senior management
  • Builds strong working relationships with a broader network of internal and external stakeholders to gather information, persuade others of their ideas, and secure resources needed for project success
  • Applies expert knowledge of varied concepts in their area of specialization to address challenges for a business and/or region and/or function
  • Guides other managers, sharing deep expertise and best practices in their specialized area and applies advanced knowledge to tackle highly complex challenges and develop innovative solutions
  • Works in a domain-oriented manner across cross-functional teams on IT project management project(s)
  • Supports intake governance, portfolio reporting, and leadership visibility by maintaining accurate program data across CIO reporting tools
  • Employs a high standard of domain specific judgement to tackle open-ended problems that are difficult to prioritize, and define what/how things are done
What you bring to the role
Education:
  • Bachelor’s/master’s degree in information technology, computer science, business administration or equivalent
Experience:
  • 8-12 years of experience with bachelor’s or 6-10 years of experience with master's in areas such as IT program management, including system integrations, application deployments, and infrastructure upgrades, or equivalent

Certifications (preferred):

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI)
  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or other Agile-related certifications
  • ITIL Foundation certification or higher, demonstrating knowledge of IT service management best practices
