The Barracuda Central Intelligence team is looking for a highly skilled and passionate Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our cross functional Agile team. The Barracuda Central Intelligence team is responsible for collecting, aggregating, enriching, and distributing threat intelligence across the company to develop threat detection systems that protect our customers. As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for managing production services and will work with Engineering and Operations teams to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance of services. What you’ll be working on:
- Ensure service reliability and uptime for cloud based threat detection services.
- Troubleshoot issues across the entire stack: hardware, software, application, and network.
- Respond to PSIRT and CSIRT alerts and required upgrade for the infrastructure.
- Collaborate with internal groups to design, develop, and deploy manageable, scalable, and robust services.
- Ensure consistent application of operational standards across cloud services.
- Present designs for review and contribute to operational readiness exercises for new and existing services.
What you bring to the role:
- Bachelor's degree in a technology field or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years progressive experience with proficiency in Linux/Unix command line and understanding of package management on Linux systems
- Demonstrated automation skills in one or more of: Bash, Python, YAML, Go
- Demonstrated experience with configuration tools such as Puppet, Ansible or Chef
- Demonstrated experience with containerization and orchestration
- Demonstrated NoSQL experience such as Elasticsearch or Cassandra or SQL experience such as MySQL or Postgres
- Understanding of the Network OSI model
- Experience writing infrastructure as code preferably with Terraform
- Experience with monitoring production systems. Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Sensu, New Relic or ELK preferred.
- AWS deployment experience is preferred
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
- Track record of successful, practical problem solving
- Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Enthusiasm and willingness to communicate via video-conferencing and slack with a world distributed team.
- Experience with build CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions
