About AttoTude, The World's First THz Radio Over Wire

AttoTude is at the forefront of revolutionizing data centers through advanced interconnect technology based on wired THz transceivers. By adapting the fiber from photonics and advancing today's ASICs to THz, our innovative AttoEngine eliminates networking bottlenecks, enabling high-speed interconnects for AI data centers.

Job Summary

The Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer will lead the development, industrialization, and scale-up of novel manufacturing processes for specialty THz wires, precision alignment, jackets, and connectors supporting next-generation datacenter hardware platforms.

This role is responsible for defining and implementing scalable, high-yield manufacturing processes, working closely with R&D, tooling suppliers, and Contract Manufacturers (CMs). The ideal candidate brings hands-on technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and the ability to execute rapidly from concept to high-volume production, delivering robust and cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Innovative Process Development & Scalable Manufacturing

  • Invent, develop, and industrialize first-of-kind manufacturing processes for specialty wires, alignment, jackets, and connectors.
  • Develop scalable processes for wire positioning, alignment, and assembly that meet tight mechanical and electrical tolerances required for THz performance.
  • Rapidly prototype and iterate on process concepts, materials, fixturing, and tooling to accelerate learning and scale.
  • Define alignment tolerances, datum structures, stack-ups, and design rules to ensure manufacturability and process robustness.
  • Establish process windows, capability targets, and control strategies early in the product lifecycle.

Manufacturing Scale-Up & CM Partnership

  • Lead the transition of new wire, alignment, jacket, and connector processes from lab and pilot to high-volume CM production.
  • Support pilot builds, line bring-up, and volume ramp, focusing on yield, alignment repeatability, and cost efficiency.
  • Drive process capability improvements (Cp/Cpk), alignment stability, and cycle time optimization.
  • Serve as the technical owner for wire alignment and connector assembly processes with CMs and specialty suppliers.

Tooling, Equipment & Automation Enablement

  • Specify, design, and qualify precision alignment tooling, fixtures, nests, guides, and datum features.
  • Partner with equipment vendors to develop automation, semi-automation, and vision-assisted alignment solutions.
  • Integrate inline inspection and metrology (optical, vision-based, electrical) to verify wire position, alignment accuracy, and process drift.
  • Lead equipment acceptance, process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), and continuous optimization.

Quality, Reliability & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish SPC, control plans, and reaction plans for alignment-critical and performance-critical steps.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for alignment-driven yield loss, electrical performance variation, and reliability issues.
  • Support qualification builds, reliability testing, and engineering change execution.
  • Apply structured problem-solving tools (DOE, FMEA, 8D, Six Sigma) to drive data-based process improvement.

Cross-Functional & External Collaboration

  • Partner with R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations to deliver scalable, manufacturable solutions under aggressive timelines.
  • Support sourcing decisions through technical evaluation of materials, equipment, and supplier processes.
  • Contribute to technology roadmaps for next-generation specialty wire, alignment, and connector manufacturing.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in advanced manufacturing or high-precision process development.
  • Proven experience developing scalable manufacturing processes for specialty wire, alignment, and connector technologies.
  • Hands-on expertise in precision alignment and tight tolerance control.
  • Experience working with Contract Manufacturers and specialty suppliers.
  • Ability to execute rapid, innovation-driven process development programs.
