JOB TITLE: Mechanic I
SHIFT: Blue Days 6am – 6pm Sunday – Tuesday, every other Wednesday
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Maintenance Manager
SUMMARY:
The successful candidate will have existing relevant Industrial Maintenance experience and be able to perform routine repairs to production equipment. Plastics and/or Nonwoven machinery maintenance experience is a plus. They will be a self-motivated and driven individual, able to work independently or in a team setting. Understanding the urgency to get jobs complete yet done Safely and correctly will be important.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Ability to clean and inspect Production Machinery components with signs of wear.
- Knowledge of installing mechanical drive components, ie belts, chains & bearings
- Prior Training in machine shop equipment operating Practices
- Able to read and execute mechanical PM’s and procedures for various types of machines.
- Able to troubleshoot Mechanical systems and simple hydraulic/pneumatic systems
- Emergency response to all in plant emergencies, i.e. Fires and chemical spills
- 6S work environment. Keeps work area, tools and equipment clean and orderly.
- Assist with other Maintenance team members as needed.
- Able to work effectively and maintain deadlines with limited supervision.
- Critical troubleshooting and decision-making skills; able to make effective decisions among primarily known/understood conditions with occasional variables.
- Verbal and written communication skills; ability to follow instructions. CMMS experience (Mainsaver)
- Strong work ethic with history of good attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Two-year Technical Degree in related field or High School Diploma and/or at least two years demonstrated relevant experience.
- Must possess valid driver License and maintain forklift operator certificate.
- LOTO Practices, rigging, Confined Space, PPE, HAZCOM
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly, occasionally lift up to 100 lbs with assistance.
- Must be able to perform physical work in a variety of positions and at various heights includes bending, stooping, crawling, reaching and twisting of arms and body movement.
- Use of personal protective equipment is required.
