POSITION SUMMARY
The responsibilities of this employee are to service our products used on paper and pulp machines on-site at customers’ factories in Australia and New Zealand.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following is an outline of the basic duties and responsibilities of the above-titled position. It describes the duties and responsibilities in the broad scope and is not intended to be all-inclusive, and does not constitute a contract of employment. Individual(s) in this position may from time-to-time be assigned other duties as appropriate.
- The incumbent will work under the AstenJohnson Australia Pty, a part of the AstenJohnson Asia division in the Asia Pacific region marketplace.
- Responsible for technical service of company products on-site at customers’ factories (at paper mill operations) in Australia and New Zealand. The technical service and basic technology deals with forming, pressing and drying on paper machines used in paper production in mills. Also involves account management, timely feedback of information to allow broader strategic planning, such as reporting of customer issues, competition, pricing etc to the business team and management.
- Regular Fabric Service: This entails installation, normal service coverage, performance analysis and regular inspection. Helps to develop a monthly service schedule with the sales Director.
- Consultative: Provide assistance and consultation to operating personnel in the paper production line.
- Diagnostic: Regular and in-depth analysis of machine and clothing variables in a structured service plan to improve machine and clothing operation. This will include domestic service, but also assistance with technical and specialized service measurement from overseas specialists.
- Ensure that all service equipment is well maintained and in good working order.
- Customer support for any troubleshooting and handling claims.
- Acts as liaison between the customer and the technical and design department regarding quality and design issues. Need to write regular mill visit reports (MVR) after customer visits, then upload these reports to the company database.
- Writing technical and service reports, and contact with customer by email and phone.
QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES)
- Relevant Paper Industry experience will be looked upon favorably
- Ideally have undergraduate or trade qualification
- Computer skills.
- Candidate must have good communication and decision making skills, be self-motivated and a relationship builder.
- Presentation skills
WORKING CONDITIONS (ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS)
- Regular business travel required.
- Some international travel will be involved for training and periodic regional meetings, but this is not a core expectation. Customer accounts will be Australia and New Zealand based.
- Home office set-up.
- Must maintain appropriate physical fitness, and conform to customer mill safety requirements. Working environment may be noisy, high temperature and or humidity, in proximity to moving machinery. Due to the extensive use of heavy and cumbersome diagnostic equipment, each associate must observe safe lifting, holding, and carrying techniques to safeguard against work related injuries.
- A driver’s license and valid passport is required.
- Working hours will often be outside the standard “9 to 5”.
