The EMEA HR team is looking for a People Relations Partner to strengthen our regional HR team. The People Relations Partner serves as a pivotal member of our HR team, providing second-tier HR support with a focus on both sensitive and non-sensitive case management. This role demands expertise in regional labor laws, exceptional interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage complex employee relations, at times in unionized or works council environments.

What will your job look like?

  • Employee Relations Case Management:

Sensitive Cases: Conduct thorough and confidential investigations into complex issues such as discrimination, harassment, and workplace conflicts, ensuring fair and timely resolution

Non-Sensitive Cases: Address routine HR inquiries and concerns, providing accurate information and solutions to employees and managers.

  • Second-Tier HR Support: Act as an escalation point for first-tier HR support, offering advanced problem-solving and decision-making assistance. Collaborate with HR Business Partners, Legal, and Compliance teams to address and resolve employee relations issues.
  • Front-End HR Processes: Manage high-touch processes including employee separations, performance improvement plans (PIP), and any sensitive request, with sensitivity, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Onboarding and Training: Facilitate onboarding sessions to integrate new hires effectively into the organization.
  • Local HR Consultation: Provide guidance on regional labor laws, regulations, and cultural practices to ensure HR policies and actions are compliant and culturally appropriate. Offer support and advice to first-line managers on employee relations and HR best practices.
  • Complex Employee Relations (ER) Cases: Lead investigations and resolutions of complex ER issues, ensuring adherence to company policies and legal requirements. Address labor grievances and disputes, particularly within unionized or works council environments, fostering positive labor-management relations. Conduct comprehensive investigations into workplace complaints, documenting findings, and recommending appropriate actions, with confidentiality and impartiality
  • Managerial Support: Advise and support managers on handling sensitive employee issues, providing coaching and guidance to promote effective resolution. Assist in the development and implementation of performance improvement plans and other managerial tools.

All you need is...

    • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, CIPD) is advantageous.
    • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in Human Resources, with a focus on employee relations and case management. Experience in a multinational organization and familiarity with regional labor laws are essential.
    • Skills:
      • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and integrity. Proven problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing employee concerns.
      • Understanding of employment laws and regulations within the region.
      • Proficiency in HR information systems and case management tools.
      • Fluency in English; additional language skills pertinent to the region are a plus.
