What will your job look like:
Managing Overall Mainframe IT Operations.
Running Mainframe Operations as Production Manager
Responsible for end-to-end Technical Management for all batch and system operations, leading a team of experts in all mainframe areas including Batch, Online, Scheduling, Deployment, Database with focus on Operations.
Managing Stakeholders and providing Mainframe Technical Resolutions.
Hiring and building the new teams.
Ownership of ISV Tools upgrades and apply patches to maintain system security and functionality.
Troubleshoot and resolve system-related issues and provide technical support to users.
Develop and maintain Operations system documentation, including procedures and guidelines.
Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.
Capacity Planning & Optimization Expertise on Mainframe Server.
Cost mapping of Mainframe apps for modernization to Cloud.
Monitor system performance and implement necessary adjustments to ensure optimal operation.
Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate mainframe systems with other enterprise systems.
Ensure data integrity and security by implementing and maintaining backup and recovery procedures.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to recommend improvements.
Knowledge on Install, configure, and maintain mainframe operating systems and related software.
All you need is:
MF IT Operations:
Min 15+ Years of experience in Mainframe and atleast 10+ on Mainframe IT Operations.
Must have expertise in mainframes technologies like z/OS, TSO, ISFP, IMS, DB2, CA7, ESP, CICS, MQ, CHGMAN, STS, Panvalet, OPC with strong troubleshooting and production management skills.
Led Mainframe Operations teams of 25+ people.
Worked in Large Enterprise environments having on Batch Monitoring & Scheduling, Code Deployment and Release Deployment.
Understanding and Controlling Access on Mainframe by RACF.
Experience on conducting IPLs.
Experience with running Disaster Recovery and DR Exercise.
Experience in Outage Management.
Experience with Configuration of Scheduling Tools like CA7, ESP and OPC.
Experience on Tools like Netview and NetCool for System Monitoring.
Cost Control
Proven experience as a Mainframe System Capacity Planning & System Programmer or similar role.
Strong Knowledge of running and understanding SCRT Reports.
Strong Knowledge of pulling consumption report of ISVs especially Broadcom, planning and POC to replace and retire.
Experience with system management Tools like TADz, SMF, RMF data.
Strong knowledge on RACF and system commands.
Understanding of DASD, TAPE management, have knowledge of DCOLLECT utilities, etc
Experience with installing, patching 3rd Party Software (CA, BMC, IBM).
Strong knowledge of mainframe operating systems (e.g., z/OS, OS/390).
Experience with CICS System Administration.
Experience with DR setup and recovery of MF system.
Maintaining huge enterprise Mainframe System having SYSPLEX setup.
Familiarity with database management systems (e.g., DB2, IMS).
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
