As a Software Engineer you will join an Agile team. You will be responsible for carrying GPON ONTs operating in embedded Linux environments thru all product life-cycle stages. This includes conception, design, development, debugging, release to manufacturing, and post-release support.
Duties and Responsibilities
Analyse HW design and adapt bootloader code to the needs of the HW design
Adapt Linux kernel to the HW design of the ONT
Design and implement Linux kernel driver
Design and implement SW for HW verification and factory test
Integrate Open Source components in the ONT SW image
Design and implement test automation
Document the design including features definition and provisioning models
Conduct and participate in design reviews and code reviews
Plan and perform unit and system-level testing of implemented software modules and enhancements
Help fix software bugs found during all testing phases
Work with the team to deploy and test incremental software releases
Work with Product Management and Customer Support to exchange ideas and information vital for the product’s success
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent education required
2-5 years of professional experience required
Experience with embedded software design, implementation, and debugging ranging from the driver/interrupt level up to the application level
Familiarity with inter-process communication and multithreading techniques
Excellent proficiency in Linux-embedded system development and debugging
Experience with Linux networking stack and interfaces
Experience with C/C++
Familiarity with Linux software development tools such as git, make, gdb
At least B2 English proficiency level
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of TCP/IP, IP protocols including DHCP and DNS, Datacom technologies, L2, and L3 protocols, Ethernet switching, IPTV, IGMP, IPV6, SFP modules, networking protocols, WiFi technology, OpenWRT, Open Sync, Linux embedded system development and debugging, Linux kernel drivers, TR69, CWMP, FTTx, GPON, XGSPON, DOCSIS
Strong testing skills
Experience with bash and shell scripting
