ADGA Group is currently hiring a System Engineer to join our team that supports ISTAR C2 (Intelligence, Surveillance, Target, Acquisition and Reconnaissance Command & Control) activities on one of our large Defence programs!

The ISTAR C2’s focus is the integration of all Canadian Army’s sensor feeds and data within the LCSS (Land Command Support System) and enables the collection, dissemination, processing and preservation of ISTAR related information.

Tasks will include but not limited to:

  • Participate, coordinate, and run ISTAR C2 Working Group and meetings.
  • Coordinate with ISTAR C2 stakeholders to assist platform Life Cycle Material Management personnel, resolve integration & training issues.
  • Maintain ISTAR C2 documentation and files.
  • Maintain all relevant technical documentation regarding supported applications and equipment to support DND’s corporate IM. (Info Management)
  • Coordinate with other DND & OGD entities in support of ISTAR C2 activities.
  • Track technical problems and solutions in using the DND collaborative environments to support configuration control and change management activities.
  • Provide system specialist user audits and feedback.
  • Help the sub-section head for PI Planning.
  • Conduct Engineering and support LCMM management of ISTAR C2 equipment.

Qualifications

  • Must be eligible or hold an existing Secret level clearance with PSPC/Federal Gov security clearance.
  • Mandatory: must have poof of Engineering bachelor’s degree in software, computer, systems, electrical or a suitable engineering or technical field required to support Land C4ISR.
  • Experience working as a System Engineer on Military C4ISR systems would be considered a strong asset.
  • Must have 4 years’ experience in the last 6 years in the preparation of technical concept documents, system specifications and technical proposals in the field of information technology, information management or engineering.
  • Must have at least 6 years’ experience in the last 8 year’s performing at least 4 of the following tasks:
    • Demonstrated work experience in system integration, verification and validation for hardware and software components (COTS and/or custom developed) in new or existing systems.
    • Demonstrated systems engineering experience working on communication and information systems (hardware, software and network) or specialty engineering. (security, modeling, simulation, ISTAR)
    • Demonstrated work experience in system life-cycle management of communication and information systems, or ISTAR systems.
    • Demonstrated systems engineering work experience analyzing, designing and/or implementing solutions in one or more of the following areas:
      • Command and control communication and information systems within a distributed platform environment.
      • Command and control communication and information systems within a client / server environment.
      • Military ISTAR systems.
      • Joint or Allied C4ISR interoperability solutions using NATO Standardization Agreements or
      • System management solutions (tools and processes) for communication and information systems and/or ISTAR systems.
  • Must have at least 6 years’ experience in at least 4 of the following tasks:
    • Communicating information technology frameworks and strategies to management and technical staff.
    • Communicating system engineering direction for projects or systems.
    • Providing advice, guidance and recommendations on technical issues to support the decision making of senior management.
    • Leading multidisciplinary teams in the development of IT tactical systems, frameworks or strategies.
    • Performing strategic, operational or tactical planning for projects or systems to meet corporate strategy.

Additional Information

  • Full time work, on-site in west Ottawa location.
  • Employee's must obtain a Controlled Goods Assessment, and Consultants must already be registered with a Controlled Good. (Businesses must be Incorporated)
  • Opportunity exists currently on a multi-year DND contract. Available ASAP.
