ADGA is currently looking for a Technical Writer to start working on a large Defence program that we support as soon as possible!
In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to support the chief engineer at the System of Systems (SoS) level by creating, summarizing, and translating technical documents for various audiences. You will ensure documentation standards are met, gather and verify technical information, and assist in drafting contractual documents.
Tasks include, but not limited to:
- Create and summarize technical documents tailored for various audiences, including engineers, system managers, and end-users.
- Convert technical documentation and technical data package materials between both official languages.
- Assess and ensure compliance with documentation standards and review existing project documentation.
- Identify documentation needs and develop plans to meet those requirements.
- Collect information on contracts and requirements from sub-section heads and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate the preparation of required illustrations and diagrams.
- Provide guidance on the appropriateness, applicability, and effectiveness of specific technical and contractual documents; and
- Assist in drafting contractual documents, ensuring they meet all necessary legal and technical requirements.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 4 years of demonstrated experience (within the last 6 years)
- In the preparation of technical concept documents, system specifications, and technical proposals in the field of information technology, information management or engineering.
- A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience (within the last 4 years)
- In the preparation of business correspondence and reports in the field of Information Technology.
- A minimum of 2 years experience (within the last 5 years) in one of the following area's below:
- Providing advice and guidance on technical writing issues.
- Experience providing verbal briefings, and presentations on technical topics.
- A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience (within the last 6 years) in technical writing in at least 2 of this assessment area's criteria.
- Planning, researching, gathering information and authoring technical documentation such as Statement of Requirements, System Specifications, and user manuals and guides.
- Proofreading technical documents created by others; and
- Analyzing material, such as specifications (technical Statement of Work/Requirement), notes, drawings, writing manuals, user guides and other documents to explain the requirement clearly and concisely.
Additional Information
- Must hold a valid Secret level 2 clearance and apply for the Controlled Goods Certificate.
- Proof University Degree or College Diploma in any discipline (an asset)
