Job Description
ADGA is hiring a Senior Telecommunication Specialist to aid in delivering voice and data communications capabilities to support military command and control. There are several telecommunications and information technology projects and product activities in flight to support these capability delivery efforts.
The Senior Telecommunication System Specialist must perform the following:
a) Review, analyze, and provide recommendations on telecommunication system and sub-system
interface documentation, including radio, microwave, satellite, network, and telecom;
b) Recommend telecommunication system level solutions for discrepancies, deficiencies and
changes to telecommunication system equipment and specifications;
c) Liaise with Department of National Defence (DND) and stakeholder telecommunication sub-system technical groups to ensure system integrity, performance, reliability, and maintainability;
d) Analyze and integrate telecommunication systems including radio, microwave, satellite, network,
and telecom;
e) Create planning and procurement support documentation, such as technical data specifications,
plans and drawings, standards, and Statements of Work (SOW) for miscellaneous interface and facility ancillary items;
f) Review, analyze, and provide recommendations relating to telecommunication system
components and associated documentation;
g) Provide technical expertise in design, technical, and management reviews of radio, microwave,
satellite, network, and telecom systems to monitor, advise, and report on progress and potential
problems;
h) Conduct telecommunication system integration testing and evaluation;
i) Analyze telecommunication system deficiencies and recommend cost-effective solutions;
j) Review, analyze, and provide recommendations on the suitability of industry telecommunication
system documentation;
k) Conduct technical definition studies and options analyzes on radio, microwave, satellite, network, and telecom systems;
Qualifications

You must have one of the following:
An Engineering or Science degree from a recognized Canadian University.
Or,-
A non-Canadian Engineering or Science degree that must be accredited by one of the following institutions:
Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials (CICIC)
World Education Services (WES); or
University of Toronto Comparative Education Services.
Or,
A diploma or certificate, minimum 2 years from a recognized college in an Information Management / Information Technology (IM/IT) field.
Or,Licensed as a Professional Engineer by any Professional Engineering self-regulatory bodies within the provinces of Canada.
A minimum of ten (10) years of experience within the last twenty (20) years as a Telecommunication System Specialist.
A minimum of five (5) years of experience within the last ten (10) years writing Project Technical Documentation (e.g. Statement of Work, Statement of Requirements, technical specifications) for Telecommunications projects valued $5M or more.
A minimum of five (5) years of experience within the last ten (10) years performing engineering design, integration, test or analysis of RF communication design and development.
