Job Description
The Senior System Architect must assist the Army Network Operation Centre (ANOC) military, civilian and contracted personnel. This will ensure future expansions, enhancements, and capabilities development to the project tailored to satisfy the current and future operational requirement of the Canadian Army. This includes:
System, Security and Network Architecture Management. Conduct audits on current system architecture and make recommendation on overall architecture, resource allocation and configuration based on current Canadian Army operational requirements. Work closely with Canadian Army G6 Network Operations (NetOps), Directorate of Digital and Army Combat System Integration (DDACSI) and DLCSPM, assist in the option analysis, planning and execution of the next generation LC4ISR system architecture to reflect future Canadian Army operational and allied interoperability requirements while remaining in-line with life-cycle materiel management (LCMM) constraints
Qualifications
- Proof of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) bachelor’s degree in network, software, computer, systems, electrical or a suitable engineering or technical field required to support Land C4ISR. (copy will be required)
- Must have demonstrated Professional Engineer License within Canada.
- Preference will be given to candidates that already hold an existing Secret level clearance with PSPC/PWGSC. (contract requirement)
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Systems Architect for Military Command and Control and Info Systems, or ISTAR systems.
- Must have 10 years’ experience in at least 1 of the following criteria:
- Analyzing, designing and/or implementing solutions in one or more of the following areas:
- Command and control communication and information systems within a distributed platform environment.
- Command and control communication and information systems within a client/server environment.
- Military ISTAR systems.
- Joint or Allied C4ISR Interoperability solutions using NATO Standardization Agreements; and
- System management solutions (tools and processes) for communication & information systems and/or ISTAR systems.
- Demonstrated work experience in system integration, verification and validation, for hardware and software components (COTS and/or custom developed) in new or existing systems, in one of the following areas:
- Command and control communication and information systems within a distributed platform environment.
- Command and control communication and information systems within a client/server environment.
- Military ISTAR systems.
- Joint or Allied C4ISR Interoperability solutions using NATO Standardization Agreements; and
- System management solutions (tools and processes) for communication & information systems and/or ISTAR systems.
- Demonstrated work experience as a systems engineer in communication and information systems (Hardware, Software and Network) or Specialty engineering (Security, Modeling, Simulation,
- ISTAR).
- Analyzing, designing and/or implementing solutions in one or more of the following areas:
- Ability to demonstrate at least 8 years of demonstrated experience within the last 10 years in the preparation of technical concept documents, system specifications, and technical proposals in the field of Information Technology / Information management or engineering (i.e. System, software, computer, communication, security, or simulation) experience.
- Ability to demonstrate at least 8 years of demonstrated experience:
- Communicating IT frameworks/strategies to management and technical staff.
- Communicating system engineering direction for projects or systems.
- Providing advice, guidance and recommendations on technical issues to support the decision making of senior management.
- Leading multidisciplinary teams in the development of IT tactical systems, frameworks, or strategies.
- Performing strategic, operational or tactical planning to projects or systems to meet corporate strategy.
